Our Approach

Most of what decides whether a gate lasts is invisible once it is hung, which is why we write it down. Every opening gets a written measurement record covering widths, grades and post positions, and that record is handed over with the finished gate. Leaf weight is worked out from the finished material list before an operator is chosen, rather than estimated from the width of the opening, and hinges, latch and drop rod are sized to the leaf they actually carry with the sizing kept in the job file.

The same principle applies to the parts of a job that happen out of sight. Footing depth and reinforcement are set to the construction standard printed in the municipal code, and the excavation is left open for inspection before the pour. Load-bearing welds are dressed back and inspected before any coating goes near them, because a finished coat hides the joint it is supposed to be protecting.

We also do the paperwork properly. Material and finish are specified from Lynwood’s permitted-materials list at design stage, so a gate is compliant by construction rather than by inspection, and infill dimensions come from the city’s own spacing rule instead of whatever the shop had in stock. Planning approval and the building permit are tracked as the two separate approvals Lynwood issues, with neither assumed to cover the other, and abutting-owner consent or a licensed survey is settled before the permit is filed so a boundary question never surfaces after the steel is cut.
